Here's why I don't offer an online cart: Just as I enjoy the unique personalities and qualities of each of my sheep, I relish the personal interactions with each person who shows interest in my woolly passion. I value the conversations, whether in person at a public artisan faire or by email from someone who has discovered my website: about Jacob sheep, about the unique properties of wool, about spinning, about the creative process, about sustainability, about the passion for fiber and fiber tools. These conversations begin relationships in a growing community of folks in pursuit of expanding their knowledge and understanding and their own creativity.

raw wool

Jacob fleeces are soft and offer both white and black (or grey) in the same fleece, making them ideal for a variety of handspinning projects. Fleece staple length is 3-7 inches, fleece weight ranges from 2-6 lbs, with little grease and high yield. The wool is is a medium grade with an open character and soft, springy handle (Bradford count 44-56).

handspun yarns

Handspun skeins are unique creations. Each fleece, as the sheep it comes from, has its own character, and inspires a particular yarn. In keeping with the act of being environmentally responsible, only native and natural dyes are used when making colors for the yarns.

felted creatures (pins)

Needle-felted brooches, wearable art:
Foxes, owls, birds

knitted wearables

Unique skeins of handspun yarn knit up into beautiful and warm hats, scarves, cowls, shawls, and handwarmers.

felted vessels

Soft and sturdy,  wet-felted bowls can stand alone as art pieces, or contain small items, such as potpourri, angel cards, or candies. Thinner felted bowls serve as woolly luminarias, offering a magical glow. Wool is insulating both ways and keeps your wine chilled in a felted wine cozy.  Elegant wrap for a gift wine. The beauty of ceramics, but unbreakable!.

woven scarves

Jacob sheep wool woven scarves drape beautifully!

felted wool scarves & wraps

Using traditional wet-felting methods, these light yet warm scarves are made from carded Jacob wool. All colors are natural or from natural dyes.

original one-skein
knitting patterns

Handspun yarn offers unique texture and creates a special experience in knitting. Because each skein I spin is from a particular sheep, I began creating one-skein knitting patterns to honor the uniqueness of a single skein and to highlight the special qualities of handspun wool.

felted land baskets

Felted woolen baskets are created with foraged materials that tell a story of our land. As I hike through the backwoods or spend time among the sheep, I discover color magic of growing things and the discarded and decaying rusted bits that speak of ago times. Each basket displays botanically prints or natural wool embellished with materials from the land: "land baskets."
