Shear Bliss at the farm
Shear Bliss is the process and the product at Four Winds Farm. Following a dream of living in the mountains, cultivating a more intimate relationship with the earth, and pursuing the whole process of the ancient art of spinning, we brought Jacob sheep to Indian Valley in 2006 and began Four Winds Farm. Our sheep are fed on organic pasture and local hay, drink water from our own spring, and enjoy the same gorgeous views of the mountains and valley that we do. They are well-loved. In return, they gift us their unusual and soft fleeces, which Lorraine cleans, cards, and spins into yarns of natural color or earth hues dyes.
We offer fleeces for handspinners, distinctive yarns for fiber folk, unusual knitted, felted & woven items, and patterns for the adventurous.
Shipping costs will be added to mailed orders, according to weight.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic, Four Winds Farm is not open to site visits and Shear Bliss will not be at any artisan events until it is safe--hopefully late summer 2021.
In the meantime, you can get fiber items and support our local farm by ordering supplies online.

Just as I enjoy the unique personalities and qualities of each of my sheep, I relish the personal interactions with each person who shows interest in my woolly passion. I value the conversations, whether in person at a public artisan faire or by email from someone who has discovered my website: about Jacob sheep, about the unique properties of wool, about spinning, about the creative process, about sustainability, about the passion for fiber and fiber tools. These conversations begin relationships in a growing community of folks in pursuit of expanding their knowledge and understanding and their own creativity.
